The 24 hour bug went through our house this week. Cy & Isaac got it Weds and Thurs. I got it Thurs night. I was hoping that by Friday morning I would be all better... I woke up and was not better until right before we left. We had a big day. Isaac's graduation and my first violin recital.
Isaac was so excited (as was I) to get his B.S. in English Literature. The convocation was pretty good and not toooo long. There were some interesting speeches from the valedictorian and a strange poem recitation too. Oh well, it was all worth it.
Thanks to all those that came to support Isaac!
I started taking violin lessons mid January. I really love the violin and am really thankful for the opportunity I have. I played Minuet 3 by Bach and a Vivaldi Concerto for 2 violins (pretty simple one). It went so well excepting the part during my first piece when both of my daughters literally started to scream at each other! I guess it was just like my practicing:) They were good for the rest of the recital. At least it was during my song that they freaked out and not one of the others'.

Thanks to all those that came to support Isaac!

Congratulations to you both on graduating! Good for Isaac to hang in there. Can't believe how much your girls have grown. WOW
CONGRATULATIONS on graduation! That's gotta feel good.
And I think it is so cool that you decided in your adulthood to learn to play a new instrument. It drives me crazy when people think it is ever to late to try something new. That's one of my favorite things about you, actually. You always loved trying new things, which made you up for most anything. We had lots of fun that way! I'll bet your a natural violinist, especially with those nice long fingers of yours. If you need inspiration go to youtube and watch Perlman playing Schindler's List. I'm sure you've heard it before. It's sooooo beautiful! I've got the music, and I'm attempting to learn it, but I need some lessons myself. I've kind of hit a wall, and don't know where to go next.
Your girls are darling! I wish we could live closer to watch each others kids grow up. I love them even if I never see them!
